The backstory
The name. The story.
The humans.
The unglamorous version. Also the true one.
Maidaan began with two marketers repeatedly noticing the same problem: good companies were doing plenty of marketing and still sounding like everyone else. After enough conversations about doing the work differently, we started the company.
First, the name
Just an open field.
Somehow, that was always the point.
A maidaan doesn’t check your budget, your logo, or how long you’ve been in business. Just what you bring when you actually show up. That was true on the field. We built a company that tries not to forget it.
The name came to us on a field, handed over by someone we adore*, who said it once, and we fell for it on the spot. Every founding story has a quiet third teammate. She’s ours.
Before it was a company, it was two people watching the same ads and getting annoyed at the same things. Somewhere between the tenth “we should just do this ourselves” and the eleventh, we stopped joking.
So we made one rule: good work, made the fun way. A terrible way to spend a weekend. A great way to run a company.
* She knows who she is.
House rules
How we work together.
// Short list, on purpose. Nobody’s allowed to make it longer.
Kick-off
Every story needs
someone else in it.
We told you ours. We’d like to hear yours.
